Two more felting workshops coming up at Unwind on Main Street here in beautiful Newmarket , January 30 and March 5. You will learn basic flat felting in the morning and then 3 dimensional in the afternoon. Contact Unwind to register though if you need any information don’t hesitate to contact me. Look forward to doing some felting together!!
Another bad weather day so an intimate workshop with Cate and Elena.
This is Elena’s first piece before felting
This is it felted – possibly a cushion cover?
Here is Cate’s felted piece
She thinks she’ll make it into a clutch purse – look at that wonderful edge!
For the second project in the afternoon, Elena made a tea cozy and Cate made a hat for a friend’s little one (have to wait for the felt to dry to fold up the brim)
It was a delightfully creative time in the midst of a very snowy day. Thanks ladies!
This is for all you last minute people. Just a reminder that there are a couple of places still available for the felting workshops I’m doing at Unwind Yarn House on Main Street in Newmarket. Contact Unwind http://unwindyarnhouse.com/ for more information or to sign up. There will be another one March 8 if you miss this one!
The morning is learning to felt so you will be able to make this cute purse or another flat felted piece
The afternoon session we will be doing 3 dimensional felting – hats, tea cozies …
Hope to meet you there
It’s time again to learn “cozy” crafts. Unwind has invited me to do another workshop to teach wet felting.

In the morning we will learn basic felting and can make this cute purse
In the afternoon I will teach how to make 3 dimensional felted items like a hat, tea cozy, vase …..
Please see Unwinds web page for more information or give them a call.
I wanted to post photos from my latest workshop at Unwind Wool Shop in Newmarket just last weekend. Michele is just so welcoming.I had three ladies at this workshop and it was delightful. Every workshop has it’s own unique “atmosphere” and such creativity!

I am a poor blogger at the best of times and there has been so much happening since my last post. I’ve had to be creating things instead of writing about them! And I have a new studio. I had my first workshop in Feb. with Grace and Kathy making nuno felted scarves. It was so nice and relaxed especially having everything at your fingertips!
Time to make another small piece
Had another wonderful day teaching people the magic of wet felting at Unwind Yarn House on Main Street, Newmarket, ON. Here are some photos of our time.

Finished 3 dimensional pieces drying. From the left, a french press cover, a baby hat (too wet to roll the brim up) and a tea cozy.
Thanks ladies for an inspiring and fun day!
I have another felting workshop arranged at Unwind Yarn House, unwindyarnhouse.com on our wonderful Main Street in Newmarket, April 14. The morning session will be for beginners and the afternoon session will be to explore three dimensional felting. Check out Wendy’s site for this and other wonderful workshops.
We’ll make this in the morning

Sorry I’ve not documented my journey more here. I took a course in the fall on eco dyeing with India Flint and it has consumed me! I have been experimenting and meeting with some others who are as enthralled as I am with it. I’ve been experimenting on samples as I learn but am now starting to “experiment” on scarves. I also want to experiment with applying it to felt but haven’t gotten that far yet. I’ll try to make time to post if I can pull myself away from my new love 🙂

I’m finally getting some workshops going! The first one is Mar. 26 from 9 am to 4 pm at my home studio in Newmarket learning basic wet felting and making a scarf. See my info page for my contact information. I have another in the planning stages for April but will keep this site updated. Hope to see you there!
