Always something new when you do a workshop!!!

Another bad weather day so an intimate workshop with Cate and Elena.

This is Elena’s first piece before felting

This is it felted – possibly a cushion cover?

Here is Cate’s felted piece

She thinks she’ll make it into a clutch purse – look at that wonderful edge!

For the second project in the afternoon, Elena made a tea cozy and Cate made a hat for a friend’s little one (have to wait for the felt to dry to fold up the brim)

It was a delightfully creative time in the midst of a very snowy day.  Thanks ladies!

Felting Workshop Feb. 1 at Unwind

This is for all you last minute people.  Just a reminder that there are a couple of places still available for the felting workshops I’m doing at Unwind Yarn House on Main Street in Newmarket.  Contact Unwind for more information or to sign up.  There will be another one March 8 if you miss this one!

The morning is learning to felt so you will be able to make this cute purse or  another flat felted piece

The afternoon session we will be doing 3 dimensional felting – hats, tea cozies …

Hope to meet you there

New workshops to learn how to wet felt !

In the morning we will learn basic felting and can make this cute purse

In the afternoon I will teach how to make 3 dimensional felted items like a hat, tea cozy, vase …..

Please see Unwinds web page for more information or give them a call.

Two days in a row! Will wonders never cease?

I wanted to post photos from my latest workshop at Unwind Wool Shop in Newmarket just last weekend.  Michele is just so welcoming.I had three ladies at this workshop and it was delightful.  Every workshop has it’s own unique “atmosphere” and such creativity!

Bravo ladies!  Some great work!

Where have I been hiding for so long?

I am a poor blogger at the best of times and there has been so much happening since my last post.  I’ve had to be creating things instead of writing about them!  And I have a new studio.  I had my first workshop in Feb. with Grace and Kathy making nuno felted scarves.  It was so nice and relaxed especially having everything at your fingertips!

Two posts on one day!! Have to make up for lost time and tell you about my workshop

I have another felting workshop arranged at Unwind Yarn House,  on our wonderful Main Street in Newmarket, April 14.  The morning session will be for beginners and the afternoon session will be to explore three dimensional felting.  Check out Wendy’s site for this and other wonderful workshops.

time to share again

Sorry I’ve not documented my journey more here.  I took a course in the fall  on eco dyeing with India Flint and it has consumed me!  I have been experimenting and meeting with some others who are as enthralled as I am with it.  I’ve been experimenting on samples as I learn but am now starting to “experiment” on scarves.  I also want to experiment with applying it to felt but haven’t gotten that far yet.  I’ll try to make time to post if I can pull myself away from my new love 🙂
